Nick Steel was stripped of the Interstate Title after he had previously won the Heavyweight Title, and under Chapter 4, Section 7, Paragraph #2 of the SCCW Rule book which states that "At no point will a wrestler be permitted to be a dual champion in South Coast Championship Wrestling. If such a situation should ever present itself, that champion must be stripped of the minor title(s).

In October 2005, promoter Joe Eugenio sold Yankee Pro Wrestling to Steve Ricard, which subsequently merged with South Coast Championship Wrestling to become Top Rope Promotions.Both the SCCW and YPW interstate titles were replaced by the TRP Interstate Championship.
