Solie's A-List of Wrestling Resources

Here are my favorite places on the web that deal with Pro-Wrestling
listed in alphabetical order by catagories

Table of Contents

Wrestling Journalism

  • DDT Digest
  • Bill Milano's excellent site for wrestling news and views. Bill also runs the Arn Anderson web site and was instrumental in producing Arn's biography, "Arn Anderson 4 Ever: A Look Behind the Curtain"

  • The Wresling Booking Sheet
  • The Booking Sheet was an online professional wrestling newsletter which published creative ideas, "booking plans", for different scenarios in WCW, ECW and the WWF. While hardly great literature, The Booking Sheet was entertaining in its own right. Eventually, when my time grew scarcer and WCW only provided entertainment of the train wreck sort, the newsletter died. In the years since the wrestling business itself has grown less and less entertaining, a prime reason for the plummeting revenues and the survival of only one major wrestling company in the United States.

    Wrestling History, Statistics and Research

  • The Cauliflower Alley Club
  • This is the official web site of the club, which is a fraternal organization for pro wrestlers, boxers and wrestling and boxing enthusiasts. The web master of the Solie's site is a proud member of the club.

  • The Great Hisa's Puroresu Page
  • If you're into Japanese Pro-Wrestling - this is the place! Also the best statistics on various promotions' Title holders are here.

  • The Horsemen Files
  • This Horsemen Tribute site is just getting underway but promises to be a little different from all other such sites on the web.

  • Kayfabe Memories
  • This site explores the stories and personalities of the late lamented Territorial System which ran pro-wrestling in America before Vince McMahon turned it into a nationally based, mainstream entertainment form. Here you can relive the days of the AWA, Georgia Championship Wrestling, Mid-Atlantic, Championship Wrestling from Florida, Mid-South, Southeastern/Continental, and others. This site is highly recommended to those who want to find out about what wrestling was like before the 1980's.

  • Pro Wrestling Is Real!
  • A scholarly report on the history, personalities and traditions of Pro-Wrestling by Brett Ramsey. This article was originally to be found out on the web, but recently disappeared, so I have posted it on my site in it's original form.

  • Solie's Vintage Wrestling
  • You're here! Historic Image Galleries: including The Early Days of Wrestling on TV, WWF, NWA, AWA, Mid-South, Georgia and Florida Wrestling, extensive Title Histories, Promotional Rosters, Win/Loss Records, Real Names, the Illustrated History of the Four Horsemen, Wrestling Articles, Exclusive Interviews, AOL and Prodigy Chat Transcripts and a twice weekly Newsletter featuring some of the best writers and wrestling historians on the Web.

  • Brian Westcott's Professional Wrestling Web Page

Recently, Brian has become a contributer to this site as well by compiling Wrestling Title Histories for the Solie's Title History section.

  • All Pro Wrestling
  • This is my favorite local Northern California indie. Their motto is "We Wrestle" and that they do! Roland Alexander is the promoter and the renowned "Dr. Mike" Lano is also personally involved with this scrappy promotion. The All Pro Wrestling Boot Camp is one of the most respected wrestling schools in the country.

  • Official Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling (ECCW) web site
  • ECCW wrestlers' biographies, merchandise, title histories, news and results highlight this very complete official site.

  • The Independent Insider
  • "The Independent Insider is THE original member of the Hook Up!" So says the tag line on the main page of this comprehensive indie promotion news source. News from several such promotions along with pictures of the action, editorial comment, links to independent promotional web sites, and of special interest to Solie's readers - the Insider Classics section which brings us up to date concerning the participation of legendary wrestlers such as Ronnie Garvin and Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant

  • Official Ohio Valley Wrestling web site
  • Want to know where the next Stone Cold Steve Austin, Undertaker, or Mankind will be coming from? Well, look no further because you've found one of the top training grounds for the next generation of superstars... OVW! AN OFFICIAL TRAINING CAMP FOR THE WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION!

  • Official WWE Website
  • Titan finally wised up and did away with the intrusive form that used to be required for entrance. The result is a much improved site with PPV news, official cards and schedules, ring music clips, images and more.
