Judge Roy Bean (1955-1956)

Judge Roy Bean was a syndicated western television series based very loosely on the life of Texas justice of the peace Roy Bean who called himself the “Law West of the Pecos.” It was originally broadcast during the 1955 television season. The series is set in the Texas town of Langtry, named after Lillie Langtry. When storekeeper Roy Bean becomes fed up with the lawlessness in the town, he sets establishes himself as a judge and introduces a system of law and order. Stars Edgar Buchanan in the title role.
