The Howdy Doody Show (1947–1960)

Howdy Doody was an American children's television program (with circus and Western frontier themes) that was aired on the NBC network from December 27, 1947 until September 24, 1960. Buffalo Bob Smith hosted the show, and Howdy Doody and the gang entertained the kids in the Peanut Gallery. Also featured were popular characters Phineas T. Bluster (the Mayor of Doodytown), Clarabell the Clown, Princess Summerfall Winterspring, and Chief Thunderthud.
